Where My Design Story Begins

Hi, I am “just” Mike Adjeleian.

I grew up watching late-night infomercials, captivated by the sales pitches for products designed to simplify our lives. Even then, I had an eye for design and a critical mind that could distinguish successful products from less effective ones.

Years later, when it was time to choose a curriculum at the Rhode Island School of Design, my portfolio pointed toward the esteemed architecture program. Having renovated old homes in my early twenties, I had compiled a portfolio despite having never taken an art class before applying to one of the top art schools in the world. As a late starter, I realized that pursuing architecture would take considerable time to gain the recognition I sought. Consequently, I chose Industrial Design, envisioning a quicker path to success through product design and commercialization…in other words, I saw an infomercial in my future.
